Rainfall Warning

Rainfall Warning in effect for:
  • Inland Vancouver Island
Rain, at times heavy, is expected.

What: Rainfall amounts of 80 to 120 mm.

When: Late this afternoon to early Monday afternoon.

Where: Inland and West Vancouver Island.

Remarks: A stronger frontal system will arrive this afternoon bringing significant rain to the west coast of Vancouver Island. The heaviest rain will be tonight with a southwesterly flow raising freezing levels to near 2800 metres overnight.

Rain will ease on Monday afternoon as the system moves off.

Water will likely pool on roads and in low-lying areas. Landslides may occur in vulnerable areas such as steep slopes, deforested areas or recent burn scars.

Don't drive through flooded roadways. Allow extra time for travel. Watch for washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts.
